About the Author

Sally has lived on the Darling scarp outside Perth and areas of south western Australia since moving to Western Australia in the 1980s, from the eastern states of Australia.

Sally’s life has been full of the joys of raising 3 children, with career paths in ceramics and for the last 20 years as a Homoeopath. Sally loves bush walking, camping and still dabbles in ceramics and now painting.

Every day there are colour and perfume changes in the Jarrah and Marri trees, flowing from one season to the next. At times there is the joy of seeing an Emu passing, sometimes with chicks, or the sight full reminder of how well kangaroos can camouflage themselves in the bush.

“I was inspired when one of my grandchildren was winging his way to earth on stardust. Inspired to write him a story to aid him to know where he lived on this planet. Not just the term Australia, but the land itself and its elements such as the winds and its inhabitants, Wattles, Sheoak and the Peppermint gum, as well as yoorn (Bob Tail Lizards) and maali (Black Swan). To name a few.”

The idea grew and now the Menna series is published and there are 4 that call me “Nanny.” Yes, my children have been busy.

I have a tear of joy for each and a hope for more.

I hope you and your grandchildren in their own time enjoy the books too.
